We wish to thank all who sympathised with us following the death of our Mother, Mary Linnane, Ballybrack.   A special thanks to all who attended the funeral, sent mass cards and floral tributes, our kind neighbours and friends, Reilly’s funeral directors and to those who provided music for the ceremonies.  A special thanks to Fr PJ and also to St. Vincents, Athy who cared for Mammy so well.  The Holy Sacrifice of Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Cheer Up ! !

A man went to heaven and arrived at the Pearly Gates.

St Peter checked his name on the booking sheet.  “I’m sorry, but it doesn’t look like we’ve got you booked in for today.  Tell me, what was your occupation when you were alive?”

“I’d my own business.  I was a scrap metal merchant,” he said to St Peter.

“I just need to check something,” said St. Peter.  I’ll be back in a minute.  And off he went.

When he returned the man had gone  . . . and so had the Pearly Gates.

Prayer after Communion.

Jesus, Jesus, You have come,
Jesus I’m now Your home.
Though I can not see you near,
Yet I know that you are here.
Hidden now within my heart,
Never never from me part.

I adore you I adore.
Teach me to adore you more.
All God’s saints and angels sing
praise be Jesus Christ our King.
May our Lady, God’s own Mother,
Keep me pure and good forever.
Amen.

Parish Pilgrimage to Poland

Our 50 pilgrims return from Poland next Monday, expected time of arrival into Dublin is approx  2.15pm followed by coach transfer to bring all back to Kilcock & Clane.

New Arrival

This weekend saw the arrival of Fr Vincent Conroy who, while on Sabbatical, will be with us for the next twelve months.  He hails from Perth, Australia where, we are told, he will be surely missed—indeed two of his Parishioners called into the Parish during the week to have a peak at what will be his new home.

We convey a  Céad Míle Fáilte to him and wish him every happiness during his stay with us.

Fr Vincent will be celebrating all masses this weekend in Kilcock and Newtown.

Mission Sunday

Go and Tell
Mission Sunday is the day to reach out, beyond Parish and Diocese and to assist missionaries as they ‘go and tell’ in the Young Churches.

There are currently 2,100 Irish missionaries working in 80 countries throughout the world.

The Pope recently said: “In this Jubilee Year dedicated to St Paul, we are reminded of the urgency to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the world.  There can be no slackening or stagnation in the essential mission of the church to evangelise all people.  Today there are countless people thirsting for hope and love who are still waiting for the proclamation of the gospel . . when we bring people only knowledge, technical competency and tools we bring them too little; often the greatest suffering is the absence of God’.
